Abstract

The article deals with the connections between everyday prosocial behavior of a given person and the accumulation of their social capital. The definitions of these concepts, personal and situational factors of prosocial behavior are discussed. There is a strong correlation between the extent of one’s social involvement into helping others and social network of positive interrelations of this individual. The wealth of such interrelations is a measure of personal social capital. The article presents the results of the research, in which 12 tactics of social capital accumulation were identified, and their comparative acceptability and frequency of application by various categories of people were studied.
