The article is devoted to the classification of the factors that determine the structural dynamics of friendship networks by using a secondary analysis of the results of empirical research into these networks. The nature of friendship networks is also briefly discussed. Such endogenous and exogenous factors as sex, age, extroversion, emotional intellect, and level of education are examined, as well as romantic relationships, marriage, birth of children, and mobility. Conclusions related to their influence on structural dynamics of friendship networks are drawn. Refs 14.
