The Journal “Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Sociology” is published since 2008.
"Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Sociology" is an academic journal of Saint-Petersburg State University, focused on conceptualization of new social phenomena and processes.
The Journal is an open platform for constructive dialogue between sociologists and representatives of related disciplines, as well as different scientific schools on the modern society theoretical reflection. It publishes the results of original social research and supports an interdisciplinary approach to analysis of social reality as well as new methods of its study. The Journal contributes to the international integration of sociologists, social researchers, and enriches sociological education with expert knowledge.
The Journal gives a special attention to supporting young talented scientists involved in the study of human, social, cultural, communication, social institutions and processes.
"Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Sociology" is a bilingual journal; it publishes original articles in Russian and English.
The Journal is published quarterly, distinguished by genre diversity including scientific articles, analytical reviews, original educational and methodological materials, reviews of scientific events.
"Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University. Sociology" is guided by the principles of publication ethics shared by the international scientific community. Articles undergo independent expertise based on the principle of double-blind peer review. Both Russian and foreign experts from the subject areas of sociological knowledge are involved as reviewers.
The journal is an important source of information not only for specialists in sociology, but also for scientists from other fields of science (law, political science, philosophy, religion).
The Journal is included in the list of the leading refereed academic journals and periodicals recommended by the Higher Attestation Committee at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, assigned for publication of the key results of doctoral dissertations (including the both Russian doctoral degrees: the PhD and the Doctor of Sociology).
